MOSAIC THERAPY
Mosaic Therapy is an art therapy group located in Wollongong. The brief for this assignment was to create a design that was modern, minimalist and simple. The client did want anything fussy, and wanted to address the ‘mosaic’ in a modern way. The client was not opposed to graphics, or mosaics but didn’t want that to be focal point of the design. In the end we agreed on this typographic design and it was pleasure to work with this client.
This was the first logo, and I decided to design it in black and white because I wasn’t sure how receptive the client would be colour. However through a conversation, we decided that it looked too much like a floor tile, and it was then that I focused on a typographic approach.
So this became the logo that we both agreed on. The client was very open to dynamic colours, and being this is was an art business, it only made sense. I decided to focus on complimentary colours in the colour wheel. I wanted to font to look like a mosaic, where pieces had been removed or added in.
I also created this background, which I thought could be used as background to a business card, however the type was extremely hard to read. We decided that this would be a great background for social media posts.
I also created a small logo, that could be used on social media, and some holiday logos for the coming festive season
